Gnassingbe has won a fourth term, probably unfairly. The incumbent claimed to have 57-61% of the vote, but the official results say Gnassingbe won 70% of the vote, his highest yet. The vote counting was not allowed to be observed and ballot stuffing and fake poll stations are suspected to have increased Gnassingbe's total. This means he will rule for another 5 years, extending his family's 45-year reign in Togo.
