Enedina Alves Marques, born in Curitiba in 1913, was the first Black Brazilian engineer and a transformative figure in the country’s development. She studied at the Federal University of Paraná, where she graduated in civil engineering in 1945, overcoming immense challenges due to her race and gender. Her contributions were significant, particularly in the construction of the Capivari-Cachoeira hydroelectric plant, a project she worked on that helped advance the state's infrastructure. Before Enedina’s achievements, women, especially Black women, used to be excluded from engineering roles, but she figured out how to break these barriers. Today, her legacy is honored with a statue in Curitiba, recognizing her as a symbol of strength and progress.

Tuíre Kayapó is an indigenous woman born in the village of Gorotire, in Pará, Brazil. She became famous for fighting to protect the Amazon and the rights of indigenous people.She was born in Pará, 1969 or 1970 and died in August 2024. She was active in the movement against the Belo Monte Project on the Xingu River in the 1980s.

In 2020, a Turkish photographer made a film about her.

Manuel Dias de Abreu was born on january 4, 1891, in São Paulo. He was a doctor, scientist and inventor, and was a pioneer in radiography. His technique was more specific to the lungs, to help diagnose tuberculosis. He started to direct radiology studies at Santa Casa Paris and develop your methods, creating the abreugraphy. It revolutionized the diagnosis and treatment of tuberculosis, allowing for early detection of people who could transmit the disease even without symptoms.
