With everyone in the world only at least a phone or computer, digital forensics has become a major part of investigations. Without digital forensics investigations of the police would become harder.  Digital evidence allows us to check the alibi's of our suspects such as their location and the time they were there using their cellphone's GPS. So without digital forensics the police would have a harder time doing their jobs.
