"six benches were left empty in every ship that evening we pulled away from death." That shows the greek value of death. 

4. Characteristics:  
"My men were mutinous fools, on stores of wine. Sheep after sheep they butchered by the surf, and shambling cattle, feasting while natives went inland, running to call arms the main force of cicones." this shows a character flaw in Odyesseus's men.
