   When the elevators door opens he finds himself surrounded by fifty other teenage boys. The leader Alby welcomes Thomas to the Glade. There are huge stones covered around them and about in few days later Thomas learns that there is a maze full with Grievers (mechanical creatures). They only get out at night.
   During the day there are
runners that go into the maze and trying to find a way to the exit. Teresa the girl who was in coma wakes up and tells Thomas that the maze is code. Thomas uses a map that runners made and figure out the walls that are sifting. 
The Code - " Float. Catch. Bleed. Death. Stiff. Push." to understand the code Thomas gets stung by the Grievers so that he can go through a changing and recovery of what happened. He remembers that you must put the code in a computer that is inside a invisible portal. Then the man introduces himself as Gally. He was mind controlled and Gally throws a knife at Thomas but little boy chuck jumps front of him and saves Thomas life, and than there was armed people who came in and shot the women. Teresa - Get's to Glade the day after Thomas. Only girl to get in the Glade.
Chuck - The youngest person in the Glade. Thomas's first friend. He's annoying and funny.
Alby - The leader of the Glade. He's the oldest and more diciplnied to the other teenaged Gladers.
Newt - Alby's second hand. He's smart and intelligent than Alby.
Minho - He is one of the runners in the maze. He's in charge of the runners.
Gally - He didn't like Thomas. Gally is always angry and never crosses his line.
Ben - He is a runner also. After Thomas arrives at Glade he goes through a mental problems. The text was great it wasn't boring and it was fun.
