Both protagonists are destined to change the society they live in
- Equality says to the Golden One, 'There is no danger in solitude. We have no need of our brothers. Let us forget their good and our evil, let us forget all things save that we are together and that there is joy [-as a bond-] between us. Give us your hand. Look ahead. It is our own world, Golden One, a strange, unknown world, but our own' (ch. 9, 44).
- Paul says, 'He who can destroy a thing, controls a thing' (p. 91).

Paul and Equality are brilliant young men
- Equality creates electricity when he created the light box
- "We made it. We created it. We brought it forth from the night of the ages. We alone. Our hands. Our mind. Ours alone and only" (ch. 5, 32).
- When Paul had to be tested if he was human, the Reverend Mother was shocked on how he passed the test because no son has ever passed it before.
- 'No woman-child ever withstood that much. Maybe you are the Kwisatz Haderach' (p.7).
- Kwisatz Haderach is a unique individual and is very special in Paul's society. This means Paul will be able to see the memories of both his male and female ancestors.
