Tip #1 Make a list of regularly purchased items in your house.

Tip#2 Start collecting coupons and put them in an organized binder.

Tip#3 Establish a weekly routine, spend 30-60 minutes each week on gathering and organizing your coupons.

Tip#4- Optimize your savings by using coupons when those items are on sale.

This is a good video, she took a recording of her shopping trip showing exactly how she would do her shopping to maximize her savings. One thing that was mentioned in this video was to meal prep for the week, then go through the flyers and look to see if any of those items were on sale, if so you can maximize your savings that way by using a coupon on the sale items. When you go into a grocery store there are usually coupons at the front, look through them, if there are any coupons that you need take some. Another good tip in this video was to use your loyalty card points to reduce the cost of the overall bill.

In this video, it gives you places to get coupons. Websites, newspapers, in front of the stores, in the aisles of stores, call companies to see if they send out coupons. This is the video I first watched to find out where to begin with my search for coupons. I knew that stores carried them but I was unaware of all the websites in Canada that give out free printable coupons. This helped me get started with my coupon search.

The one thing I was most surprised about was just how easy it was to save money just by saving and collecting coupons for your most bought items.
So after doing this assignment, I decided to start couponing myself, I started by collecting coupons for items that I bought regularly, and I watched the flyers for sales that way I could maximize my savings. On a grocery trip I recently took I was able to save almost $50.00 with coupons and loyalty points I saved up.
Just do it, it is so worth the time you spend on couponing and the money you save can be put away for savings.
