Addiction to the social media

Our group is composed of two « cantalous » (those who come from Cantal, Victor and Flora) and the super catholic of our classroom (JB).

In our group, there is so much laughter that after this stage we can’t feel our abdomens anymore. So why not start living together!

This course was organized by our school in collaboration with the Cavilam. In this course we like the access to technology. This access gives us a new vision of foreign language learning. But the fact that the lessons lasted 3hrs each, it were very long and more breaks would be better for our brains.

We think that this course taught us the way to work in groups and how to speak with ease in front of many people.

During the course we kept our calm (our behavior were so perfect) and worked in great conditions  to do excellent work for Carmenne and ourselves. Moreover we learned to use lot of technology to help us progress in English (in fact we are sure that we have become bilinguals).

All of us think that we have made lot of progress during the course, especially in our friendship.

If we should give a piece of advice to future students of Prepa, we’ll suggest that they listen to many English songs, videos, or something like that. The training and the courage is a factor of progress.  

It’s really great to work together as we complete each other very well. Also, we really focus on our English and we try together to improve ourselves as best as we can.

Sometimeswe might be stressed out and argue with each other saying things like “what areyou doing you stupid?” “Marine move your ass and stop talking there is not much time left” “Are you serious Julien? “, but with much love anyway.

We are always saying crazy things (and singing) people don’t understand, well exceptus of course.

We also disagree on many things about society: consumption, money, the world.

But we still support each other.

So it has been 4 days of greatness and darkness, of passion and adversity.

Charles, Ingrid and Agathe: since the beginning of the year we are together in the classroom so this group has been created automatically.

Our group is special because we succeed in working together although our points of view are different We like working in our group because we are complementary in English because everyone has a different level of English.

Testimony:

-We tried to speak English as much as possible thanks to the debates in the classroom concerning documents we heard.

-The fact that we could hear ourselves allowed us to realize our mistakes. Moreover it is easier for us to express ourselves, something we don’t dare to do in the classroom. However there is sometimes a lack of vocabulary to understand what was explained by the teacher.

-We learnt to pronounce words that we use all the time (firm, talk, before,…); and it is more comfortable to understand ourselves and recorded documents too.  

-If we have advice to give to future students of prepa, it is to practice their English every day, watch series, listen to press conferences (with TED) and translate one sentence a day. 

During these four days we have tried to speak English well and we want to improve our level as far as we can. And for that we have the chance to work with Carmenne. We work on methodology and technique to have the best skills for the exams. And we learn a lot with fun inspite of difficulties. And we hope we did it with a little bit of success.
We like the atmosphere during these four days. A great atmosphere to be the best as you can.
We don’t like the other groups because “if you’re not with us then you’re our enemies” (Anakin Skywalker). But “it’s not personal, it’s business” (Don Corleone)  We learnt what is a commentary and how to make a good commentary. We learnt how to listen to a track with more concentration. We learnt a lot of things. That was simply so instructive.
For the future students we will just say: never give up. “Why do we fall ? So that we can learn to pick ourselves up” (Batman). And the need to know that “Haters will broadcast your failure, but whisper your success” (Don Corleone)

This project was designed for preparing students for the oral components of the English language examination.

The aim of this project was to make students conscious of their own learning processes. They were taught to pay attention to their accents, to their pronunciation and intonation.

During the course of these four days, we looked at various topics ranging from economics to sustainable development, from business and management to social media.
