I cannot begin to imagine how difficult this decision must have been for you. One’s career and one’s family are often significant and competing priorities that provide people with a sense of identity, a community, and feelings of accomplishment. 

I suppose all there is to say is thank you for every opportunity your leadership of the CEC has afforded me. My time here has been one of the most important roles in my career to date and has been the source of some of my most valuable personal and professional relationships. Whichever organisation benefits from your talents in the future, as I cannot imagine your return to Scotland means you will not return to the workplace, is very lucky. 

I hope we can stay in touch as a global network of expertise in organisational development for staff and patient safety.

I’m so sorry to hear that your husband has been so ill and is still on the road to recovery.  It must have been a difficult decision for you to make to step-down but I’m sure the support of your family will be invaluable at this difficult time.

Since I started at the CEC working with Evette a year and a half ago, I have seen how you have inspired and encouraged the organisation and provided a much needed safe space for people to work within.  You have steered the CEC through this time of unimaginable uncertainty and I have really admired your knowledgeable, calm and decisive way of working.  On a personal note, having worked in other organisations where the leadership has been overwhelmingly male, I was also very much inspired by seeing such strong female leaders as yourself, Kerry Chant and Gladys Berejiklian leading with such compassion.
