This encouraged the U.S. and other countries to explore and research more about space. It also lead to a rise of nationalism within the Country.

The Jungle- November 4, 1905

"The Jungle" was written by Upton Sinclair and published on November 4th, 1905. The book exposes the disgusting conditions in the meat industry. The publishing of this book is important because it exposed the problems in the industries, which forced the government to take action to create a better environment for the workers. Thi book also contributed to create safety and sanitary laws to protect consumers' health.

Triangle Shirtwaist Fire- March 25, 1911

The Triangle Shirtwaist fire occurred on March 25, 1911. The fire was the cause of bad and unsafe working conditions. The incident was important as it showed people that the conditions in the factories in the late 1800s through 1900s were unsafe and bad. Because of this, many unions worked together and others took to the streets to protest. In the end, laws were made to protect the labor workers and give them better wages and working environments.

Brown v Board of Ed.- March 17, 1954

The court case Brown v Board of Ed. targeted the topic of segregated schools. The case brought up the difficulties Black people had to face as they were rejected in all-white schools. In the end, "separate but equal" was struct down and black students were able to attend all-white schools. This court case was important as it contributed to the end of segregation in the education system and allowed for African-American students to get a proper education.

FDR's New Deal- March 9, 1933

FDR's New Deal was created to put people back to work after the Great Depression and WW1. The Great Depression greatly impacted the United States, leaving hundreds in poverty or death. The New Deal created programs that helped the people and the country's economic stability. Without the New Deal, the U.S. would have had a tougher time containing balance.
