Dylan is an energetic, 9-year-old boy who loves to color and has an obsession with race cars at the moment.
The subject that Dylan has the most difficulty in is math. Whenever he is presented with numbers he tends to get very anxious, and shuts down whenever he doesn't understand a word problem/equation or doesn't answer them correctly.
Ever since he was in Kindergarten he has had problems in counting, recognizing and writing numbers, sorting things into groups, and making a connection between the word for a number and quantity it represents. He was just diagnosed with Dyscalculia last year.

Dyscalculia is a specific learning disability that affect a child's ability to understand, learn, and perform math and number-based operations. Individuals with this disability may have a poor comprehension of math symbols, struggle with memorizing and organizing numbers, have difficulty telling time, or trouble with counting.
Dyscalculia can also affect a child beyond school and hinder their day-to-day activities like playing board games, making correct change, and even their motor skills.
Though there is no "cure" for Dyscalculia, there are at-home and educational strategies that can help a child with this learning disability.
