The Pleiku Campaign was a major event. It was considered the first substantial battle. The Campaign was between the US Army and the people army of Vietnam.

Attack on Camp Holloway (February 6, 1965)

Flight Incident (November 1, 1955)

A plane called the Mainliner, Denver and was destroyed by a time bomb. It killed 44 people, and officially started the war.

Battle of Dak To (November 3, 1967)

There was very heavy fighting. There was a lot of bloodshed. The battle was hilly terrain and heavy jungle.

Battle of Khe Sanh (January 21, 1968)

The battle was between the North Vietnamese Army and the U.S. Marines. The North Vietnamese Army attacked the U.S. at our base called Khe Sanh. There were 15,000 to 30,000 troops surrounding the base.

Battle of Hue (January 30, 1968)

Communist troops decided to attack the city of Hue. There was a high number of casualties. They had to call in extra South Vietnamese troops and U.S. troops to help with the attack.

Battle of Ben Tre (January 31, 1968)

The Battle of Ben Tre took place when the Vietcong forces attacked Ben Tre. Three hundred twenty-eight people died in the war. The city was completely destructed.

Fall of Saigon (March 4, 1975)

This was the last major event of the Vietnam war. The fall bitterly unified Vietnam. This was the capture of Saigon.

Mayaguez Incident (May 12,1975)

A U.S. combat ship was taken by Cambodian forces. The 39 crew members were taken. It was the last act in the Vietnam War.
