Pullman invented a luxury sleeper car after a bad train ride. After business too off he built a city for his workers called Pullman, Illinois. This city was high end, but it was not a good place to live because wages were low and rent was high. Also it was like a mini dictatorship because there were so many rules company workers had to follow. Pullman was a greedy man and lived the luxurious life style while his workers suffered. he considered a robber baron.

The reason for this was that factories needed workers. The need for workers led to more work opportunities and money. Also many immigrants moved to the city for new opportunities and jobs. There was also a shift from country to city because of developing technology, that led to more jobs.

It amazed me that there was no regulations for anything in the work place. Another thing that boggles my mind is that the owners had know respect for there workers. Having the workers workers work in such terrible makes me sick. I though it was good that a bunch work regulations were put in place due to the fire.

Time Zones were created because each town and train station set there own times. This led to a ton of problems , which led to confusion and even accidents on the train tracks. Also people missed trains because they didn't know when the trains were going to arrive. So to fix the problems time zones were implemented. The time zones helped with accidents and knowing what time the train would arrive.

Also railroads led to specialization, which let cities and states focus on one product. Another reason for the boom was that traveling was easier than ever. Many people road the trains. This led to a ton of money coming from the train market. Trains made the transportation of products fast and raised a ton money from travelers.
