         <description><![CDATA[<p>The Prohibition started close to 1919 and 1920, but it lasted until 1933. It outlawed the consumption of alcohol in the United States prior to the ratification of the 18th amendment. Women, many women at this point had been pivotal in bringing about national Prohibition in the U.S. believing that it would help with the safety and protection of women and children from alcohol.</p>]]></description>
