Hi! The biggest effect that the Chinese immigrants left was all the work done that was forced upon the Chinese immigrants, and the cultural impact that so many of them left after they were no longer forced to do labor with little to no pay.

I enjoyed learning about Chinese immigrants and their effects on the railroad, as well as their impact on American history. I think that some of the main effects of Chinese immigration and work on the railroad is the diversity of community it supported across the country. As you said in class, many towns, especially towns along the railroad, mining towns and major cities have Chinatowns. In my hometown there is a rich Chinese-American heritage. Many of the Chinese railway workers transitioned from working on the railroad to working the gold mines.
Also, today we can reflect on the racism and discrimination faced by the Chinese immigrants. The resilience of their community and the lasting impact on American culture make this particular population significant in American history.
