Who Am I?

Hi! I am Marie Mae R. Piloto, and people often mistake me for being unapproachable or assume I’m a lesbian, which is not true. I guess my appearance or demeanor sometimes gives off the wrong impression. Anyway, I’m turning 22 this December 24, 2024, and I am the eldest daughter and sister in my family. I grew up in an environment where expressing feelings and thoughts openly wasn’t common—it seemed like everyone was nonchalant. In the past, we rarely said “I love you” to one another. However, things have changed over time, and now we’ve been practicing vocal affection more frequently. It’s a small change, but it means a lot to me and has helped strengthen our family bond.

I enjoy both watching and playing a variety of sports. One of my most memorable experiences was when a classmate encouraged me to try swimming, particularly diving. I used to fear the water, but this experience helped me overcome that fear and opened my eyes to the beauty beneath the surface of the sea. Spending time outdoors, appreciating beautiful scenery, and connecting with nature are some of my favorite ways to relax. These moments bring me peace of mind and help relieve stress.

I also dedicate time for self-reflection and pondering life’s complexities. I’m on a journey of self-discovery, striving to learn more about myself and surrounding myself with people who bring positivity and joy into my life.

Biggest Fear?

My biggest fear is not being able to live the life I have always wanted and dreamed of. Growing up, I wasn’t born into wealth or privilege—I wasn’t “fed with a silver spoon,” as the saying goes. This realization came early in life, teaching me the value of hard work and resilience. I’ve learned that if I want to achieve my dreams, I have to strive smarter and work harder not just for myself, but also for my family.

A part of this fear stems from the thought of achieving success without my parents and siblings by my side. Their support and sacrifices have been instrumental in shaping who I am today. I dream of giving back to them, of sharing a life where we no longer have to worry about finances and can fully enjoy the fruits of our efforts. Together, we’ve envisioned a future where we live with security, comfort, and peace of mind—a life where the struggles of the past no longer burden us.

This aspiration fuels my drive to push forward despite challenges. However, my fear is that life’s unpredictability could rob me of the chance to fulfill these dreams while sharing them with the people I cherish most. To me, success means more than personal achievement; it’s about creating a better, more stable life for my family and ensuring we can enjoy that dream together.

What keeps me going is my deep desire to create the life I’ve always dreamed of, not just for myself but for my family as well. Growing up without luxury taught me to value hard work, perseverance, and resilience. I realized early on that nothing comes easy and that I must push smarter and harder every day to turn our dreams into reality. I want to give my loved ones the comfort, security, and stability we’ve always longed for.

My family’s love, support, and sacrifices inspire me to keep moving forward, even during tough times. We’ve shared a common dream—to build a life where financial worries no longer exist, and we can live comfortably without the stresses of daily hardship. This vision of a brighter and better future for my parents and siblings keeps me focused, driven, and motivated to never give up.

I also find strength and inspiration in the simple joys of life, such as spending time outdoors, taking in beautiful scenery, or quietly reflecting on life’s purpose. These moments of peace help recharge me and remind me why I keep striving so hard for our collective happiness.

Most importantly, the thought of achieving my dreams while sharing every success with my family pushes me forward. I don’t just want success for myself—I want us to grow and thrive together, celebrating each milestone hand in hand. Their love is what truly grounds me and keeps me going every day.
