When you major in Exercise Science, you study the science of human movement. You are educated on how to help people live healthier lives with exercise, nutrition, and rehabilitation. Physical therapists and trainers have to learn about the anatomy of the body and go through similar courses, if not the same courses involved in a Exercise Science major.

Circulation of Exercise Programs

Since we are living in a time where the Internet is so important, most things are accessible through the Internet. As I have explored the ways exercise programs are circulated, I have seen most through the internet such as Google, Instagram, and even Facebook. On the contrary, there are rare cases where you could just be getting it from someone who just simply has knowledge in this area, and this way of circulation would be word of mouth.

Typical Moves In Exercise Programs

The typical moves I have noticed in a workout program are stating the benefits of a certain workout that they provide. I also noticed that they use words like "Important" and "Need" to really provide an emphasis on what they are talking about. Lastly, I have noticed that the programs I have observed used specific lexis.

How Exercise Programs Moves Do Their Work

1. Stating Benefits- One way to draw an athlete or weightlifter's attention would be to tell what makes a specific workout good. This particularly benefits the less educated people.

2. Using words like "Important"- This has more of a psychological effect on readers. Words like "Important" and " Need" help make it seem like the workouts are real game changers. This is also a marketing tactic to draw more customers.

3. Specific Lexis- Using specific lexis provides uniformity within the community. It helps other people know what is going on. If you were to just learn the meaning of a specific word within the community, and then notice it is not used anywhere else it causes confusion. I also think it kind of makes you lose a little credibility.

Critiquing Exercise Programs

There are two things I have a problem with regarding exercise programs. The first would be the price. I can not count on my hands how many times I've seen simple programs that cost an arm and a leg for things you can get off of YouTube. There are tons of people who feel as if their specific program is the best. People charge an overly high price, which in turn, turns some people off, including me. Also, you never know people's intentions, and they could just want your money. This ties in with my second problem with programs. You have to put all your trust in people who have no idea who you are. There is no guarantee that their program even works. It is a big gamble that you take, especially considering you have to spend the money that you worked so hard for.
