For:
The problem is very pressing, and if we don't do something now, it might be too late for rainforests, unique habitats, and global warming.

Reasons:
1.) The cutting down of trees is speeding up global warming.
Fact #1:Trees produce 20% of the oxygen on Earth.
Fact #2: The Amazon rainforest trees are a major part of the fight against global warming.
2.) The rainforests are home to diverse ecosystems.
Fact #1: Tropical forests sustain over 50% of all species.
Fact #2: There are approximately 3000 fruits that are edible and grow in rainforests.
3.) There is no reason to not be replanting the trees that we cut down except laziness.
Fact #1: Some companies replant every tree they cut down, so they aren't contributing to deforestation.
Fact #2: Oregon has a reforestation law requiring landowners to replace trees they cut down.

Against:
The problem isn't big enough to worry about, and devote money to.

Reasons:
1.) The effort would cost a lot of money.
Fact #1: The BBC is reporting on a new study which estimated that current deforestation is costing the world $2-5 trillion per year, and we would probably have to pay more than that to fix it.
Fact #2: In fiscal year 2015, the federal budget in the United States is $3.8 trillion.
2.) A lot of products we use are made of wood.

3.) There are more pressing issues that we should devote time and money to.
