Sharks swim in most regions of the worlds ocean. The majority of the species live in warm, tropical areas. Some types of sharks swim in the open ocean, far from land. Many sharks stay in the shallow waters near the coast. Most sharks keep to the warm, sunlit, upper waters of the ocean.

The hundreds of spiders that fall under the tarantula category can grow so big you might have trouble holding them with one hand. The so-called Goliath birdeater is a perfect example of a misunderstood tarantula: It rarely eats birds. And luckily, tarantulas aren't dangerous to humans! Lots of other freaky-looking spiders, such as the whip spider, are also relatively harmless- although some can pinch you a little if they get scared. Yikes!

Most animals under their skin have hard bone, like birds, reptiles, mammals, and frogs. Sharks however are very different. They have a skeleton, but their bones are all made of this tough material called cartilage. Human noses and and ears are made of the same material. Cartilage is strong and flexible which is why they break easily. Cartilage supports the sharks body so that they can be flexible when they swim. As they get older the skeletons become hard and more like a bone.

Many different shark species eat many different things. Most sharks are carnivorous but some eat plankton because of their diets. Sharks eating habits depend on where they live because if they are in a area where their is not a good food supply they may not have enough food. Carnivore sharks eat seals, sea lions, dolphins, porpoises, as well as large fish species.
