Around mid-Fall Semester, student clubs will start to have GIMs (General Interest Meetings) and follow-up with a more consistent schedule of club meetings. To know when GIMs are, students should be on the lookout for posters put up in various academic buildings. Social media pages of these clubs may be updated. And centralized university pages may be updated as well.

And how do students know what to register for, for each of their semesters? maylam04091 https://padlet.com/maylam04091/974a517ifqp54dwn/wish/3949909643 In general, first year SoE students have a similar curriculum (English, Calculus, Natural Science, CS 10/ES 2, EN 1+3, HASS etc). This is so that students can declare a major in any one of the engineering departments after their first year, having already completed some of the general SoE requirements. For semesters after declaring a major in a particular engineering field, students should refer to their engineering degree sheet: https://students.tufts.edu/academic-advising-and-undergraduate-studies/engineering-degree-sheets. The engineering degree sheets were designed to provide a general sense of requirements students will have to complete for their specific major, even if a student may not have come in with any transfer or pre-matriculation credits. If your student came in with pre-matriculation credits, or has other majors/minors in addition to their primary major, then the order of the courses listed on the engineering degree sheet may have flexibility built-in with the guidance of an advisor in that department.

If a student thinks that they have enough knowledge to move on in their math series, they should connect with the Math Department.

It is typical for students to be assigned of a pre-major advisor at the beginning of August, then given 2+ weeks to make an appointment with their pre-major advisor. These appointments should be made promptly to not only discuss course selection (and any other topics students would like to address), but it's also used to lift a student's hold on their account. The hold needs to be lifted so that students can access registration.
