1)Why where the Roaring 20's significant?

The roaring 20's were significant because they doubled the nations wealth and women could vote. The nation’s total wealth more than doubled between 1920 and 1929, and this economic growth swept many Americans into an affluent but unfamiliar “consumer society.” Also the 19th Amendment to the Constitution had guaranteed the right for women to vote in 1920. The 1920's were covered in color and are famous dances were made. During this time many young people wanted to do was dance: the Charleston, the cake walk, the black bottom, the flea hop. This brought us into our era of how everyone wants to dance. If the 1920's didn't happen- women wouldn't have as many rights as they do, and our nation wouldn't be as loaded at it is now. This is what made the Roaring 20's significant!

A human right that was expressed during this time was #28. The human right states,"A fair and free world.” This was expressed during this time because women were free and weren't considered lower than your average man.A quote that supports this states," They were considered equal and everyone was free" This human right connects to the time period because during this time people had a lot of freedom and were able to do what they wanted. Everyone was free and didn't have a care in the world. This is the human right that was expressed during the 1920's.

5) What was the culture like?

a)The culture during the 1920's was everything was colorful and music was always playing, also there was a lot of dramatic social and political change. A quote that supports this is," It was colorful and bright all the time." This is what the culture was like during the Roaring 20's.
b) How did the Roaring 20’s influence women?
The Roaring 20's influenced women by making them take charge for what they wanted and was also the birth of a new woman. She defied society’s standards of what its women were supposed to do, say, wear, act like and be. She gained political power by gaining the right to vote. She broke out of her domestic shell. She wore shorter skirts, more dramatic makeup, and cut her hair. She flaunted her sexuality. She drank, smoked, and danced in clubs. She was a flapper. If women didn't fight for there rights during this time we would have a lot fewer rights then we do today. This is how the 1920's influenced women.
