Thus earth connection is made before the current carrying contacts of the plug become live. When plug is removing from socket, Earth pin comes out last. Means earth connection is removed after the current carrying contacts separate. That earth pin is directly attached on the metallic body of the device, If earth pin is inserted in the live hole, current will flow from the live wire of socket to the earth pin of Iron to the metallic part of the electric device’s body.
- Ivan Dave Peria, 12 STEM atlas

Especially if he/ she is only making contact with a wire possessing only 1 electric potential. Because if the person or thing has only made contact in a wire with 1 electric potential, the electrons won't have the motivation to travel up to the one who's making contact with the live wire. He/she will only get electrocuted once they make contact with 2 wires at the same time, containing or possessing different electric potential because by then, electrons will travel that will cause electrocution of the one who's making contact with the wires.

I realized that even though the drift velocity is 0.01cm/s, since there is a repulsion that pushes electrons to move carried by electromagnetic waves. While the free electrons continue moving and immediately begin drifting due to the electric field caused by voltage. An electric field establish instantaneously resulting a net flow of charge at almost speed of light (3×10⁸m/s). So that the lights keep turned on although the circuit switch is closed.
-Windel Batican

Therefore, as you turn on the switch the electric field reaches the other end and cause the electrons in the wire near the bulb to flow through your bulb.

The central concept to be noted is, free electrons drifted with an average velocity that is drift velocity at every sections of conductor due to electric field setup by source and hence immediate current flows.

The higher the resistance of a conductor, the longer it is; for example, a two-metre wire has double the resistance of a one-metre wire with equal qualities. I discovered that electrons are the only things that move from one location to another, whereas positive charges remain stationary. When one positive rod comes into contact with a neutral metal, the neutral metal becomes positive because its electron transfers or moves to the rod, making the rod negative in charge. The rod and the metal will then be drawn together.

An electric field occurs when a switch is close resulting for the electrons to flow instead of just randomly moving. The movement of positive charge particles on the latter part is from positive terminal to negative terminal.

However, current is just free electrons in a metal travelling in a semi-coordinated manner. The wire is already overflowing with electrons. We didn't need to move electrons from the socket (or some other electron source) into our wire. Electrons have already entered the wire. All you need to do now is give them a little push to get them moving.

-What is required in order to have an electric current flow in a circuit?
three conditions are 1, a conductor in a closed loop. 2, a source of potential in the conductor loop. 3, an electric load to balance the potential in the loop.

-Why is the bird on the wiresafe? When will the bird experience electrocution?
The bird is not an excellent electrical conductor. This means that birds do not allow electricity from the cable to go into their own bodies. Birds can sit on power lines because the electrical current ignores the presence of the bird and continues to flow through the wire rather than through the bird's body. The body of a bird is a poor conductor of electricity. However, While birds on electrical lines are technically safe and aren't in any danger, they won't be so fortunate if they come into contact with the wire and some other objects at the same time. The voltage difference produces a current flow through the bird between the two wires if the second object is an electrical grounding wire or a second wire carrying a different voltage.

Why do electricians work with one hand behind their back?
we don't want the electrical current to enter our body by one hand and then out through the other, because the electricity will flow into our heart, killing you more quickly than if it went into our hand and out through our ground foot.
