Where we sit in the University

Our Academic Lead is Debbie Willison who chairs the Careers and Employability Working Group.

We are part of the Directorate of Student Experience. Director is Gill Watt and we are line managed by the Deputy Director Steph McKendry.

• MyCareer - Appointments and Events booking system - an in-house system managed by the information team  and colleagues in Information Services. Links to Adviser diaries and the Events Calendar on our website (and the StrathApp)

• CareerHub (confusingly sometimes referred to as MyCareerHub) - Vacancies system. Employers register with us to display their vacancies to our students and graduates. Also used by many other universities and employers have the option to share their vacancies via CareerHub Central so is more than just Strathclyde/Glasgow specific.

• Abintegro/Careers Toolkit - Tools, resources and modules such as CV360 for students and graduates.

• Student Circus - Graduate vacancies for International Students.

Practice Interviews

We offer this as well as interview practice. Students are asked to provide a copy of the application form and job description 3 days in advance to allow you to prepare questions in advance.. These are sent to yourcareer@strath.ac.uk if students cant do this (sometimes they just find out about the interview) we can talk to them about the interview in an appointment but cant be expected to have don’t all the research.

1. Offering longer guidance session to IS referred through other consultants and via the information team.
