This was a combination of road and sea routes, to import and export items. A lot of the routes would have been sea, because England is an island and in that time it was a lot more expensive to transport items.

In the 1980’s England discovered petroleum and natural gas reserves in the North Sea. This changed England’s energy production a lot. Petroleum and natural gas is a cheaper alternative to coal. 

As of 2014 the amount of coal has decreased, they are only producing one fifth of what it was in the 1900’s. England has an abundance of coal, and has been mining coal for over 300 years. For most of the 19th and 20th century coal was England’s richest natural resource. Coal is very expensive to mine in England and in other countries it is very easy to produce coal, so the mines in England have closed.

When it comes to construction England has got a lot of natural resources for that too. England has access to natural materials like sand, gravel, crushed rock, clay, and salt which are used in the construction industry.

Things like banking and finance, steel, transport equipment, tourism, gas and oil. As of 2015 England has found oil that could acclimate to 100 billion barrels of oil. UKOG said that 100 billion barrels could potentially be underground, but another 5 billions could be extracted so in total England could have a total of 15 billion barrels of oil. This would be very good for England's economy.
