Have been summoned in a bitterly sense of a discussion against the future of their children and the threat the God Of Death Queles coming from Sebas's Oracle. Sebas requires the training and honing of their Heir's Abilities and skills to defeat the threats (threats also being generals that Queles has commanded to kill all remaining protectors).

Lena being received in the Dungeons while Anwar was with their father in the kingdom being received and then viewed as the (Incorrect) successor of the future Protector of Water. This being because Lena gave off the 'Energy' of holding the true power which the Protectors mistakened to have come from her brother. As long as the Protectors felt the energy of a new Protector entering, they were pleased and immediately left afterwards. 

P.S Lena is not aware of who her mother is as her father had only found her in the dungeon.

After the Ball (located literally 15 chapters after some Plot and Training/Group bonding) in which the Future Protectors (additional - Lena) have been required to attend with the Nobles, a Poisonous Slime Monster (GANTUM - Creates existing years before the rule of Protectors) has bitten Anwar and in turn has put him in a Sleeping Limbo (Trance) that could also put his life at risk. Jay reminds Lena of the flower she had read about in the Library that could potentially heal someone and they take the idea to Saleen and Kaius (their instructors). 

(They sadly lost someone)
Except for when they then meet an evil woman that uses hallucinations and Owayne, an executionist and punisher (I think they are both generals). They suffer brutal torture for a couple of days and manage to then escape with the help of Jay and torture Owayne into telling them where the flowers are. They solve the riddle to obtain the flowers and kill the Evil Woman (Lena using and discovering her 'New' found torture ability). 

Extras: 
They make a beautiful funeral for their lose, Jay giving a heartbreaking speech and some pretty magical things happen. They encounter another general on the way back where Lena gives off the quick suggestion of how to overpower the general of death (that called her SISTER) by feeding him large amounts of power. This gains suspicion of her from her group mates while she also gains visions of herself killing Anwar.

He is basically powerless besides his hostage held body and fighting ability but trains her to participate in the Tournament of all the God's children that when conquered grants you a wish. 

We learn the backstory of Queles that explains how him and his siblings tended to mortals and created offspring. They began wars with each other and him and his siblings got together to put in place 'a gift'. A way to focus and control hatred for one another in a civilized way (The god's wish and tournament). It worked for a couple thousand years until they were not satisfied and began targeting humans. They began slaughtering by the thousands and came across the wrong family - Her Ancestor's family. Seeking revenge she enlisted in the tournament of the gods and won.

The power to protect human race from any and all the god's children. There was hesitation. The wish would be granted but only the children of the god's blood running in them would be allowed to compete in the tournament. 

Which is how we also find out she is the daughter of the queen of the water demigods DERASI. She loved her father but it broke after she had Lena. So in order for her to be granted access in the Tournament, she must face a challenge and have her mother claim Lena as the one to fight for their families honor.

She forgets to mention herself in her wish and he reveals the fact that Lena is a Protector over both WATER and DEATH, also revealing that the daughter of Lena and Jay who will have the power of FIRE, WATER and DEATH cannot live.
