This course was challenging and reminded me how difficult research is for most people. The process can often feel overwhelming, but knowing what to look for and what you are looking for really helped. I feel I now have the tools to contribute professionally to the field when I am ready to do so.

Literature Reviews

This was one of my favorite activities. I enjoyed being able to pull information on a topic from a variety of databases. It allowed me to practice with controlled search terms and Boolean searches. It also made referring back to articles easier because I already had them collected and annotated.

Methods

This was one of the places where I struggled the most. This section made me second-guess my topic because I was not sure I would be able to devise a process to assess the outcome I was looking for. The Methods section made me really consider what me study was actually trying to show.

Research Proposal

Being able to create a full research proposal was something I was not expecting to do by the end of the class, and it felt very satisfying. I also liked that we constructed it in smaller parts, it felt less overwhelming that way.
