iMovie: iMovie, originally sold in a pack including 3 other softwares called ilife, is a Macintosh application which is fairly basic to use with a simple layout. Although some would argue it is still better then the 'Movie maker' Windows offers for free.

I have used both this software as well as other free downloadables such as Movie maker and can honestly say iMovie is a very high quality application for its level and in comparison to other softwares. It is a very good app for beginners to edit and cut clips and create short movies easily. When comparing using the app on a computer and the iPad i would definitely say using it on a computer system is easier, this is because using a mouse makes it easier it quicker to click different things and over all edit quicker, the iPad sensitivity is good but it takes longer to edit.

Garage band: Garage Band like iMovie, is sold in a pack including 3 other software's called iLife. This app in my poi ion is great. It is an amazing tool for beginner producers who are interested in creating music and are thinking about it for a future career. This is a good starting point. This app includes a set of instruments consisting of guitar, piano, violin, bass and drums along with a range of different types and voices off of the primary sounds. i have personally used this application and think it is a great software, especially considering it is free. The lay out, qaulity and potential it offers to anyone who downloads this app is amazing. Although i think it is a great app, it is purely for beginners. If you have a real interest in music i would suggest buying a software on the computer, as this app is mainly for amateurs and is just a bit of fun. If you are serious buy a proper software.

I can not say i have used this application on a computer, but i have on an iPad and for me i can say i felt very comfortable using the iPad for it. The lay out is very good and it is fairly easy use.

Spreaker Studio: Spreaker Studio is a voice recording application by spreader inc that can be used on both iPad and computer. The app allows and gives you the chance to create your own fully equipped podcast or radio show,using your own voice. I have used the app on both computer and iPad, and in my opinion i think it is better on the computer; even though the lay out on iPad is simple and fairly easy to use, the computer software is faster and more advance. As well as the use of the mouse makes it easier as it speeds up the whole process of recording and producing. This app offers, as well as a recording device, playlists dan chat section.

Voice Recorder: Voice Recorder is an apple product which allows you to record and edit your voice. It has been changed and updated by apple over the years but still carries the same concept. It is a pretty simple app, nothing serious. I suggest if you are serious about singing download something more advanced. The mi quality is not the best, it isn't high definition and you have to bring the iPad close yo your ears to properly hear the sound, but then again it is just a small app. if the quality is really bothering what you can do is connect an alternative mic to the iPad or computer, deadening on what device you are using, to improve the sound quality. I have not used the app a lot, but i would say it is probably easier to use on an iPad as it is meant for iPads and iPhones as it is not a big enough software for computer.

This is my Mind Map for this project in unit 5. My particular mind map is based on photography as this is the task I chose to do. I stil need to print several images, and maybe even draw some pictures for examples and evidence in my mind map. I also need to add colour to make is look more creative and presentable. There are no current issues in test shoots, they will be taking place using the ipad in our next lesson on unit 5. My confirmed locations so far are all of the rooms in the media department. These consist of the computer room, the main room, and the motion room, as well as others. After the discussion with my production team we confirmed that all the practical work will take place as soon as possible, as we believe all the planning is on the verge of completion. We also discussed each of our roles and what we needed to execute work wise in the next few lessons to complete everything to the best of our ability.

Yesterday, for a photography project in UNIT 5, me and my fellow classmates took a tour around harlow college to take pictures of the different facilities and equipment within the grounds. We visited the motion room, photo studio 1, and the animation room to take action shots of students from different classes hard at work. this was to show people what the media department in harlow college is like. Below are some of the images we took of the media. journalism and photography area. I tried to include a range of students, staff, equipment, mac iPads and and working areas such as the studios and the open plan.

Questionnaires

When assessing my final outcome of my website I arranged a peer review of a few students and staff members using a questionnaire. The feedback i got was a mix of both positive comments and tips for improvement. One member of staff, when asked if the photos i took represented the college in a good light, replied yes as some great images were used, he stated. But he said he would of changed one particular image of a student looking really bored, although it was a good shot it doesn't present Harlow college students in a positive way. Another comment made by a different member of staff was that there were too few photos. I agree with this statement as when the pictures were being taken i didn't have much time, and was therefore rushed to finish up. But even though i may not have finished to the best standrdm i still, strongly believe all of my of my photos were high quality. A more positive comment made by a student when asked 'Can you navigate easily' was that it is very easy to navigate, with information easy to access because of the effeicnet and well structured lay out. Over all i think i done well in making th website fairly easy to use and navigate, as well as being visually appealing with a lot of handy ifromation on what the Media department is all about. I believe I represented the Media department in a very good, yet real way. If i was to improve it, i would add more information about courses and the units that the media students study, as that was one of the tips of improvement suggested by another student.
