      My name is Samantha Anderson, but my friends call me Sam. I’m from Louisville, KY and I’ve been there my whole life. I cannot wait to get to know you and start our college careers together. Hopefully we are a good match and can be best friends! Something you should definitely know about me is that I love to be active; this can be in many different forms too. 
       To start off, I love going on walks and runs with my friends. I think its a way to get to hangout but also challenge and push each other. Going on walks would give us a great way to get to know each other and the campus a little better. It also could lead to us meeting new people and making new friends which is always a good thing! Being active, even if its a light walk can brighten your day, it makes me feel productive and more willing to take on new things. 
        There are many reasons why I like to stay active and workout in my free time. I believe having the small victory of getting through your workout every morning makes the other challenges in your day a little less daunting. Through the beginning of the pandemic I felt very lost and purposeless. My dad encouraged me to exercise with him at home and it helped me come out of my funk because of the confidence it gave me. Since I am an athlete it came fairly easy for me, but still felt so refreshing. Working out makes you physically stronger and feeling physically strong increases your mental strength as well. Which I’m sure will be very beneficial in college. 
        I start my day pretty early each morning since I am a morning person. At least you’ll never have to worry about me coming into the dorm at 3am! The last important thing you should know about me is that I am a people person, so I love making new friends and being surrounded with supportive people. I’m always up for a coffee date or a fancy dinner with our friend group or just a chill movie night in the dorm. Since I am active I shower about two times everyday and go through clothes like crazy. You’ll be excited to learn I actually love doing laundry, so I’ll probably beg to do yours. 
       In conclusion, I love feeling active and the results that being active has on my character. Having people to share your passions with is important because you can use that person to push and better yourself within. I’m excited to learn about your passions as well and hopefully we are similar. Let’s have an awesome year!

           I always had my wedding planned out in my head, but being here today was like a dream come true. As I walked down the isle in the dress I’ve dreamed about since 2nd grade, I adored the silk grazing my skin walking to the melody of the music. I took a deep breath, inhaling my favorite smell, hydrangeas. I’m holding three of the beautiful, full round plants in my hand, thinking about the day at the gratto. It’s senior year that stretch of weather between summer and fall, the perfect time for a mid-day walk. I stand there with my classmates and saw the bright green hydrangeas in the mix of other beautiful flowers, and smiled as I remembered my parents wedding pictures, hydrangeas in my mothers hands. Ever since their wedding my dad got my mother hydrangeas for every anniversary, so since birth they’ve signified love and persistence.
