Teen Years: 12 - 18 (2004-2010)

Young Adult Years: Ages 18 - 40 (2010 - Present)

Becoming a mother. Physical changes in body and mind. Feels like becoming a different person. Sciatic pain and stretch marks.

Cognitive: Age 25

Prefrontal Cortex should be fully developed. Future planning like saving money and family became top priority. Making good decisions (for the most part). We bought a house and started RESPs for our kids. I put my career on hold for child rearing, after doing some personal research on attachment. Taking motherhood and adulting very seriously.

Cognitive: Age 16

Learning to drive. Attending driving school and passing my test.

Biological: Age 13

Puberty; Starting menstruation, Being self conscious and more aware of self image. Depression, hormones and angst.

Psychosocial: Age 17

Trying to figure out what group I belonged to; Definitely not with the "cool kids", who believed making bad choices made them better than others. Maintaining a strong sense of integrity. Interested in academics and arts, and exploring cultures/travel.

Role confusion on future career; no strong pull to one specific choice. A dilemma that has carried into adulthood.

Psychosocial: 3 months

My mother was only given 3 months of maternity leave afterwards, I was then taken care of by a babysitter for majority of the time. I don't remember this time, nor do I know how it has affected me but my mother and I have never had a close relationship.
