But if it’s something like a person you can’t really replace it. An example of love is when you spend time with your family or play with you favorite toy that you’ve had for a while.”

“The difference between loving a person and an object is if you loose an object it is not the end of the world for most people. If somebody were to lose a person that they loved it would be hard for them to let go. If you lose an object and are very upset you shouldn’t be because an object is not the true meaning of life, your family and friends are what matter the in life. Something like an object is very small in the big picture.”

"Loving a object is great, but loving a person is a force much much greater than the love for any given object in the entire universe. Loving a person can be complicated. It [means] having strength even when you’ve given up, but most importantly, it [means] having the strength to live all day, all night, and forever, no matter what you always have a piece of them in your heart. Love is when you get a hug, love is always, love is forever."

"The difference between loving a person and an object is that an object can break or run out of battery, but you can easily replace it. If you hurt someone you love it will take more than a screwdriver and new batteries to fix. An example of love for me is when I go to the ranch with my whole family."

“For me the difference between loving a person and an object is very obvious. When you love a person, you worry and care for them. You cheer them up when they’re sad. You love them everyday. For example when my mom had surgery, she had to rest for many days, she wasn’t able to walk well, so my sister, my dad, and I took care of her. When you love something or an object, you might want to carry it in your pocket and take it everywhere, for instance when I was little, I had this toy that I loved. But one day, when we went shopping, it fell out of my pocket and I was sad for a long time.I also have have this stuffed animal I’ve had my whole life. I love it very much. But for me, the people that I love are more important that anything."

"I think the difference between loving a person and an object is a big difference. One of the differences is how you need it and want it. Usually you love your PlayStation or Xbox. That is something you want, but your mom is someone that you love and you also need. What do you love more? I love my mom more. If you love someone you show more affection and love."

The difference between loving my grandma compared to my doll is I feel soft inside, like a light is shining. It is different with my doll. When I love my doll, I feel goopy inside, like I’m made of goop."

"Love for an object is when that object makes you feel happy and maybe it makes you feel better when you're sad. Another thing is when you like something so much that you want to do it over and over again. Love for a person is different because it makes you happy to be with that person and you care about them. You care when they get hurt, maybe you help your younger sibling when they have lost an object they love. When you love an object, [you] probably would carry it around, but you won't care if you drop it. You would just pick it up again. You will always love a person more than an object."
