People could not sell the stocks and they owed a lot of money to money lenders. Many people lost everything in the Great crash Stock markets around the world crashed. This triggered a domino affect… companies had less money, so they reduced production and layed workers off. people had less money so they could not buy things. this affected other industries. This situation, along with the other causes, triggered a 10 year long odyssey known as The Great Depression.
