Situation: The Ecuadorian Museum of Natural History wants to present an exhibition about the dinosaurs that inhabited The Earth during the Cretaceous era. For the exhibition, it will be necessary to produce oral and written information (audio, images, pamphlets, souvenirs) that indicates the types of dinosaurs that belonged to the Cretaceous era. Your task as exhibit designers and tour guides is to create all the elements required for the ‘night at the museum’ in order to explain where the dinosaurs lived, what they ate, how they reproduced, how long they lived on Earth, and why they became extinct.
Performance Product Purpose: In your roles as exhibit designers, and tour guides first, you will visit a professional museum to observe what the characteristics of high-quality exhibits are and what criteria you will use for the displays. Second, you will research the museum topic and then analyze, summarize and classify the obtained data. Third, you must decide what elements you will use to tell the story to the visitors live the experience (posters, brochures, oral presentations, and souvenirs for each stage of the exhibition). Fourth, you will determine how to organize the construction and installation of the display so that visitors understand the presentation. Fifth, you will decide how to use the entire exhibit as a teaching tool to involve visitors in the process. Sixth, you will open the museum to the public and the guides will explain everything related to the topic. The presentation should meet the following criteria for success: The visual quality, organization, and structure of the texts should be easy to read, relevant, clear and grammatically correct The images or posters of the dinosaurs must be in A3 format (colorful) The brochures must be in an A4 size and contain information about the habitat, feeding, reproduction, and causes of extinction of the dinosaurs of the Cretaceous period. The audio that complements the exhibition in each stage will only last two minutes and should be clear and have the correct intonation when speaking The souvenirs should be related to the content of the exhibition
