I did not have a choice. I had to look for the missing part of the puzzle in the attic. As I was wandering deep into the dark abandoned space, my eyes caught a small movement somewhere to my left. I grabbed an old baseball bat and held it in front of me. My heart was beating in frantic pace. My breath grew shallower. I was peeking through a hole when a mouse knocked down a pile of white cloth, revealing an enormous mirror. The otherworldly appearance of the mirror caught me in a trance of spookiness yet awed; it was ornate and ancient-looking, with clawed feet holding its gigantic golden frame that was inscribed with such careful details of strange symbols. The date was the first of March 2012. My house felt empty. My mom asked me what could we do to make our house more cheerful and bursting with life, so I suggested that we should have a cat. My family agreed and set out to find a cat in my dad's village of Kodiang. By luck there were 3 fluffy and small kittens, so we decided to take the orange kitten with a flower-shaped tail that made him even more special to my family. We named him Mat Sontoi and from that day on till now on the seventh of July 2017 he is still alive and well but taking an appearance of an old cat. I always knew that it was him if he was trying to enter the house, as it was his loud 'meow' and signature behaviour of heading to the kitchen first expecting for food. All in all, I love him as he has always been and will continue to become the family cat that we knew since the beginning. I can only pray that he will live longer and always be healthy till the end.

The Imbecile four

I used to be very close to my best friends back at my hometown, now we were a hundred of miles apart from each other. We did realize back then when we were hanging out that one day at some point of our life, the four of us would soon need to move on with life.We ignored that fact and continued to have fun until the last day we were together.We cried,laughed,skipped class and had gotten ourselves scolded by teachers together.'The Imbecile Four' was our nickname, given by the teachers.We were hated by the teachers, I guessed.But hey!The four of us made it through highschool and now all of us made it into university somehow. The Coffee Shop Encounter

It was a lovely evening and as usual, I was relaxing at my favourite cafe. As I sipped my steaming black coffee, a tall and lanky man was entering the room. I was unable to turn my gaze away as he looked rather mesmerizing. Out of sudden, he turned to my side and flashed me a grin that showed two rows of his perfectly aligned teeth which caught me by surprise. It was not every day one would get an encounter like this. However, it did not progress any further for a few weeks until one day while I was too immersed in a book I had borrowed, he came up to me and sat in front of me. That was how I met him and now, he is my husband for 20 years and we are living peacefully in a small apartment with two girls.

I used to be so shy when I was a kid but now I am a well outspoken person. Whenever someone asked me about something I would just smiled at them and ran away instead of answering to their question. Because of my action, I was scolded by my mom as she said I should answer and what I did can be considered as rude. 10 years ago, I was skinnier than today. When I look at myself and compare to the picture of my old self, I feel angry towards myself because it was me who caused myself to be in this state. Back then, I would read some online stories before I went to sleep. I found the joy in doing that. sometimes, I would stay late in the night just to finish a book. If I reached another chapter, I would tell myself to just read another one ad go back to sleep. But I ended up finishing the book anyway. I used to be scolded by my mom because I would be looking like a zombie the next day due to the sleepless nights. Now, i rarely do that anymore. I never read as much as i do back at home. A couple of year ago, my mom bought me a cute fluffy rabbit as a token of appreciation for me because i helped her doing some cleaning work at our house. I gave the rabbit a name which is Muschi Buschi. I feed muschi buschi everyday even it was not hungry at all. One day, i didn't see muschi buschi as it always appear when i opened the back door. When my father and i were finding muschi buschi, we saw a cat with some blood on it paws. Then, what i saw is a cute sexy rabbit was lying on the grass and wasn't breathing. I never thought that heartbreak could be so painful. When I was 15, I thought having a tiny little crush on someone won’t hurt me much, but I was wrong. From a little tiny crush, it changed to a person who you loved the most. Our first met was in the library when I was helping my friend to lend some books at the library to do some references, and he was the person in charge at the counter. My friend and I were lining up to sign the book that we already took. When it was my turn, he genuinely smiled showing his scrumptious little bullet holes of beauty on his cheeks. We talked a bit about ourselves and end up exchanging our Twitter usernames. After 2 weeks, we’ve been contacting each other through Twitter, we exchanged numbers and started talking on the phone call every night. At this time, I realized that I have a tiny little crush on him, and I started to develop my feelings towards him until one day I told him that I like him in our phone call, and he was laughing at the other line. I was stunned at first because he laughed and all he said was “Aw”. Being an innocent 15-year-old girl who was hoping too much, I took it as a positive answer, and kept this feeling going till I didn’t realize that I have loved him so much. A month after I confessed to him, we were still talking and texting. Even at school if we bumped into each other, he will approach me just to say hi and so on. But then, from what I heard from my friend who happened to be his classmate, said that he was dating with one of his classmates. At this time, I don’t know how to react. My heart felt numb and I know it was hurting inside. He was giving me fake hope. I was hurting badly until I refused to talk to anyone. Not only that, I also deleted his texts and refuse to answer his phone calls. A couple of days later, I picked up my courage to ask him about what I heard from my friend. And of course, he did not deny that and started to feel sorry for me. I was really sad and keep skipping school to avoid him. But then it hit me when I realized that this was not something that I should be crying over. I might forgive him but forget what he did to me. Uh-uh. But I guess that now I completely forget about what he did since I followed him on Instagram last month.

I used to love to read novels when I was young, but now I love reading academic reference books. At first I was interested in the flow of a story being portrayed in a novel however since I started to become a science student, I spent most of my time with science reference books. Now, I realise that reference books also portray stories in each topic in the books. For example, in biology reference books, in a topic called cell division, there is a subtopic called mitosis where I can imagine the topic is being presented in a form of a story. Thus, this is the reason why I prefer to read reference books rather than novels.
