         <description><![CDATA[<div> the women’s liberation movement often referred to as the second wave was a political alignment that was made up of campaigns for peace, educational and employment equality, an end to violence against women and birth control. In the 1960s only seven percent of women had a degree and out of that,  just thirty percent was employed. Women were expected to be married and have kids in their early 30s.</div>]]></description>

It developed in major cities such as Toronto, New York City, Boston, Chicago and Berkeley. The first movement formed in Mexico was inspired by students and us women’s liberationists. </div>]]></description>

Women were limited to teaching, nursing or secretary they receive lower salaries than men did were. In 1962 the book feminine mystique by Betty Friedan is credited for the spark of the second wave. </div>]]></description>

Women were treated equally at the workplace because the government passed the female equal pay act. They were allowed to hold high office and husbands were not allowed to own all properties it was shared between both couples. Women got the same rights as their husbands. </div>]]></description>
