Would be good if you could make it more of a group work base so that we all understand and get other people opinion. I think the topics should be interesting however, we are spending way too much time focused on the code. This can be ignored as other lecturers do as they put the code on and if someone asks for it other students put it in so the lecturer can focus on delivering. There is limited control over lecture slides and microphone and the lecturer needs to make the slides private so that no students can take control as this has been a huge issue as they have been muted without even knowing. Problems with screen sharing, the wifi quality also is bad which means students can't go back and re-watch. This has also led to students not even turning up (as shown in the number of atendees each week decreasing.) Following this, there is a function on teams that automatically put the same people in breakout rooms and this is not being utilised currenttly and again too long is being spent putting people in them. I know that interaction is a university wide problem but in other modules there is much more engagement with a smaller amount of students. The use of other tools such as kahoots, polls in the chat. There is also another lecturer uses where she puts up a piece of text that she has highlighted with questions and we respond on this with feedback and other questions. Additionally, there are several links to lectures and seminars and one week we are in one and the next we're in another. Maybe this could be cleared up on the moodle page? I Think the lecturers are reallt enthusiastic but issues in the first few weeks that have not been sorted have lead to feeling underengaged and dissappointed. I understand the situation is difficult with online learning, but there has been multiple points that seek improvements. Few lectures haven’t on right time frame, losing 25 mins in some cases for chat. This leads to the full powerpoint not being presented. Interaction from us lot the students has been poor, many students do not engage when areas arise. Feel that moments of conversation about topic is right but too much chat about other non-topic areas to be pointless. Numerous idiots asking for code and further wasting time.
