Stories of Daisy's wedding and her drunken fiasco the night prior rise up in my memory. How she wished to call off the wedding, how she happily married Tom the next day. How She seemed so impossibly in love with him just a few months after. It was like the bathtub breakdown the night before Daisy's wedding had never happened. But then Tom crashed his car with a chambermaid from his hotel. And it was as if everything was a piece of a puzzle that had come together before me. "Gatsby bought that house so that Daisy would be just across the bay" (Pg 78). Life to her was a game of secrets, ones to be heard and shared later. It was why she enjoyed large parties as opposed to small ones. In bigger gatherings she was able to control who she talked to, seek out the information she wished to hear, present the side of herself that she wanted to, because she had the control to do that. In smaller parties though, there was limited choice in who she could talk to and what side of herself she could present. It seemed as if it were this way of thinking that Jordan approached everything with. Gossiping about Gatsby, telling Nick about Tom’s affairs behind Daisy’s back, and so on.
