As we see in the movie and in the text that we read previously in class. Both Molly and Erin Gruwell (educator in Freedom Writers) get interested in what was the prior knowledge of their students. Teachers must know the level of knowledge their students have to know what literature gave them to read. A lot of topics get involved at the time of choosing what literature teach and one of them is what the students already know.
