The biggest reason I want to work in the music industry is because I have always wanted a career in a job that I will enjoy. I have always had a passion for creating music and writing songs so I feel it is the best fit for me. 

What skills do you want to learn or hone to become better in your desired area of the industry? 

I would like to improve my ability to work with others on projects as I usually work alone in terms of writing and recording. Getting used to working with others will benefit me as it will push me out of my comfort zone and expand my style instead of keeping within the same genres I am used to. 

What motivates you in your career?

My passion for music motivates me most, it is a really important outlet for me and I find writing songs and recording has a huge positive impact on my mental health and stress levels.

• Did your Formative work go according to plan? If not, why not?

  My formative work went to plan regarding recording, however I didn't complete as much written work as I would have liked to.

• Are you on track according to your original schedule?

  yes

  I need to allocate more time towards my written work

• Have any unforeseen challenges come up since the start of this module that may now impact this?

  My MacBook broke, which left me with less time to access my pallet

• How do you plan to overcome these?

  allocate 1 hour every week to theory work and continue working on my recordings

• What influences can you hear in your track/playing – how are they apparent? (e.g. performance, technical, production, tone, songwriting etc.)
  Frank ocean- harmonies, beat

  labyrinth- lyrically, euphoric sound, use of harmonies

  
  

• Where are they most obvious in your music?

  I think my inspiration from labrinth comes through in the intro, his music often opes with a really intense intro with lots of harmonies and then it dies down. The lyrics are written in a similar way to how frank ocean writes his, they sound simple but have deep underlying meanings.

• What creative/artistic doors are opening through the writing/arrangement/ production/performance of this track?

  Creating this track has opened me up to taking my music in a different direction, and has inspired me to create a short EP in the style, it is also broadening my audience.
