Dental & Oral Problems: Chemotherapy and Radiation are the top two treatments for cancer patients. This increases long-term dental problems. These include: damage to the tooth enamel, tooth decay, tooth loss, and gum disease. Mouth ulcers may also occur causing pain and difficulty in chewing, swallowing, and talking.

Endocrine Problems & Changes:
This type of issue occurs commonly in breast and prostate cancer patients. Ablation therapy is used for these types of cancer and it removes estrogen and testosterone from the body to keep the cancer from coming back. Long term effects include: memory loss, weight gain, loss of sex drive, depression, and anemia.

Infertility:
Radiation in the abdominal region can cause the long-term effect of infertility for both sexes. Certain chemotherapy can permanently damage the ovaries in women and the testes in men causing infertility. The only option one has in order to bear children in the future, is to preserve the eggs or sperm before you start the chemotherapy. Along with infertility, men can suffer from Erectile Dysfunction and women can suffer from vaginal dryness and sudden menopause.

Organ Damage:
Certain cancer treatments can cause long term health issues that appear as you age or have other health problems. These include: heart failure, lung and airway damage, liver damage, and kidney damage.
