         <description><![CDATA[<div>New research from the Additive Manufacturing Lab at Simon Fraser University in British Columbia is using origami to help the fight against the Covid-19 pandemic. Based on 3D-printed origami technology, their breakthrough could lead to inexpensive and portable ventilators that improve the treatment of the most critically sick Covid-19 patients.<br><br>As described in the journal <em>Flexible and Printed Electronics</em> [Kim <em>et al. <br><br>According with Clifton Strengthsfinder my five strengths are: Input, Harmony, Individualization, Woo, Restorative.<br>For my team i will choose Carter-communication, Alice-achiever, Carlee-consistency, Daisy-developer, Fernando-focus.<br>I selected those because I need in my team someone able to focus on the project, an achiever, someone to develop a project and someone that has to communicate between all of us.<br>I believe that the strength Woo will help me to influence others&nbsp; , Harmony will help me to lead&nbsp; my team members in a harmonic way avoiding conflict. Input is the strength that will help to collect and archive more information about this project.&nbsp;<br>Individualization is the strength that helps me to take in consideration each individual unique qualities and use them for my project. &nbsp;<br>The last strength, Restorative  will allow me to help resolve problems and conflicts. Will be able to identify and eradicate the problems that can appear during the project management.</div>]]></description>

Traditional implants can take weeks to design and manufacture, especially if they need to be customized for a patient.<br><br>COST<br> 3D printing is often cheaper — and sometimes faster — than standard manufacturing methods, which means manufacturers can rapidly design, print and test medical device prototypes</div><div><em><br></em><br><br><br><br><strong><em>Cons</em></strong><br>3D printing is not eco-friendly<br>Inconsistent quality of 3D printing objects&nbsp; &nbsp; &nbsp; &nbsp;</div><div><br>3D printers don't always produce top-of-the-line results. 3D-printed objects can vary slightly in dimensions, and some level of design noise — like texture or bumps when a surface needs to be smooth — may be introduced in the manufacturing process.          <description><![CDATA[<div>The world lately had to deal with this awful pandemic that killed so many people. As a nurse that works in COVID unit I realized how important are the ventilators and how lucky we are in USA that since is a country with little economic problems didn't have a shortage in ventilators. In other countries though this was a disaster. There were no enough ventilators for everyone. Medical practitioners had to choose who to save. The shortage in ventilators was global and not only in poor countries but also in countries like Italy, France, Spain.<br>I believe that this innovation could help to save many lives world wise.&nbsp;<br>This type of ventilator can be manufactured in less time than traditional ones and the cost is minimal. Therefore I strongly believe and hope that this innovation will be adopted world wise.</div>]]></description>
