"Media and Information Literacy recognizes the primary role of information and media in our everyday lives. It lies at the core of freedom of expression and information - since it empowers citizens to understand the functions of media and other information providers, to critically evaluate their content, and to make informed decisions as users and producer of information and media content."
Based on what I've read on the internet on Media and Information Literacy, I'm really expecting a lot to learn about media and information. I would like to learn the connectivity between the two and to literacy, their significance to all of us and to the modern era and etc.
I also hope that through this subject, it will enhance our skills and talents on the said core.

This subject which is "Media and Information Literacy" would probably widen my knowledge about media and from the subject itself, I guess this will feed me a lot of information to interpret or relate myself regarding technologies, research and etc.
I am also expecting some activities that will amend our perspectives concerning media, I assume. Of course, the creativeness of the student's mind with this subject will hopefully upgrade and be used.

"Media and Information Literacy", an unfamiliar subject for me. But from the name of the subject itself, I can say that it is knowing or having knowledge about conveying message and information through media. I expect that we will spend more time in facing computers, cellphones, and other kinds of gadget to gather more informations and to enhance our learning technologies. I just hope that I will enjoy the times of learning more about this subject. Witnessing the kind of teacher that we have in this subject, I am hopeful of having good times with her and with my classmates. For me, learning is not just because of going to school everyday but learning is also having fun sometimes or while studying. I personally thought that it will be a class surrounded with felicity, great ambiance, and camaraderie. Media and Information Literacy makes me think more about TECH. I'm so excited to know more about this subject because, for me internet is already part of the life of a human beings. Knowing more about media is so interesting since media plays a great role in each group of people who are building a relationship or building it more stronger and nowadays media mostly seen in internet where many people loved to make it as a time killer. So, I expect in this subject that I can understand more about technology because ,as a youth I need to be updated of what are the latest happenings in the world. Through internet I can gather information from different countries and maybe the information that is gathered can play a great role in the evolution of our country from a third world country into a best country in the word in the future and again the technology plays a great role so, I'm so thankful to have this subject in our second semester. It is usually common to us students that we are asked questions like "What are your expectation on this subject?" then our answers are usually the same. And I think the purpose of my teacher on asking this particular question is to challenge himself/herself on how would he/she will manage or do the teaching strategy in effective way, as well as to know our prior knowledge on a certain subject.
Well, my insights on this subject, Media and Information Literacy, I think it deals about on how the media works. Another, by learning this kind of subject, we could gain tools to interpret and evaluate the information and stimulate our own creative expression. While my expectations on this subject; this subject or during the class discussion will not be boring but more fun and interesting activities. What I think about this subject "Media and information literacy" is that this subject will help us students understand media and information as channels and communication of tools for development if individuals and societies. This subject enhance and develops our creativity in media and information by using through internet and technologies and gadgets that we use in our every day lives like smartphones, laptop, PC, and etc. My expectation to this subject is that even though I've never encountered a subject Media and Information Literacy before, so I expect that this might be a challenge to me on learning this subject. But as long as we had an excellent, kind and beautiful teacher who is on our side teaching us to learn and help us understand along the way, and we must be proud that we had this subject and the knowledge we will remember throughout our lives.

From the word media I could say that this subject tackles more about internet, technology, and social media. This subject helps us to learn more or enhance our knowledge in accessing websites. My expectation about this subject is that maybe this subject is going to be fun, exciting, challenging and interesting as well. I hope I would learn a lot of things about this subject. I am also expecting a lot of activities- it may be individual or group activities by using through media or in the internet. Regarding with our new teacher our class would be enjoyable, fun and exciting because I could see she has a nice attitude that we can build good relationship towards her as a teacher and us as student. When I first heard the subject Media and Information Literacy, though its quite new to me, the first thing that pops into my mind is social media, indeed I was right. Infact social media is just one of its component and there are lot of things to be discuss and to be share to us about MIL and I'm excited to know more about it. For me, this subject aims for us to be information and media literate, to express information in our own creative ways and for us students to be globally competitive in terms of media and information.
I know it would be challenging, sweaty, but, as of the same time, we'll be having fun while learning the subject. And of course with a teacher like Mrs. Erma, young, pretty, and enthusiastic, I know this will be more enjoyable. I also expect more dynamic group activities for us not just to develop our minds and enhance our talents but also to build a relationship oriented with teamwork, friendship, and equality. Furthermore,
I'm hoping that we can accomplish this subject without failures and if we will work hand in hand, I believe we can make a change and that change will be our key to success. AMEN......

Media Information Literacy. These three words are familiar to me but the subject that is comprised with these words isn't. Since this subject is all new to me, it is normal that I do not have any idea how things would run in this particular area of learning. Various of possibilities could happen and those could only be either positive or negative. Being a student with an appetite for learning, I look forward to things with positiveness.
There are a lot that I expect in Media Information Literacy. First, I look forward to having great memories in this six-month subject. I also assume that the method of learning used will be in the form of fun activities so that the lessons would be much more remembered. And since the title of the subject includes media and information, I guess we will tackle more about the usage and significance of social media in our society and the development of our knowledge about information through access of media. By the end of second semester I expect that we will be very well oriented with the things that we needed to know.

Also, I'm looking forward to all the exciting activities that we will have have and I'm looking forward to the bond that we will create between us and our teacher. As what as I've understood about this subject, it deals with technology and social communication matter.And also,the subject develops our understanding about our new generation. Actually, I don't expect a lot of things about this subject because it is new for me. I just want to learn a lot of information and to be knowledgeable by the teaching of our teacher. We all know that our teacher will do her best so that we will learn a lot of information about this subject. I really appreciate our teacher the way he teach as because she always smiling and she enjoy her teaching.

As a student we tend to expect something from things that we believe are important to us. In " MEDIA AND INFORMATION LITERACY" I expect that this will be a very interesting subject and we will enjoy the company of each other. Upon hearing the subject, or may I say reading because the new schedule of the subjects were posted on the board, I suddenly thought to myself "Finally, a subject I know I'd be good at" or maybe not. I looked at the internet for further information and it said that the subject enables people to interpret and make informed judgments as users of information and media, as well as to become skillful creators and producers of information and media messages in their own right. This is really amazing for me especially because I am a part of the journalism team in the school and our purpose is to deliver information. I am excited honestly and I am hoping loads of learning at the end of the semester.

Hearing about the subject itself really pumped up my journalism spirit! Honestly,I'm quite excited and rejuvenated that I get the opportunity to learn about Media Literacy.
It's quite amazing to think that nowadays, with just one click,we release an incredible amount of power that according to Maria Ressa (Rappler CEO) spreads like an atomic bomb except that INFORMATION has NO LIMITS.
As a journalist who was blessed with the opportunity to join the Regional Schools Press Conference, I learned that the media can either be a good element or a bad one to the society's welfare.It has the power to destroy and the power to uplift.That's why in this subject, I'm very excited to learn about how the media really works and how crucial it is for our lives.
Now, as a student of STEM, I'm anticipating that this subject will help me broaden my intellectual knowledge about the things related to Media and Information Literacy.With the help of our new teacher, we're all hoping that we will both learn and enjoy the time we have while it lasts.

Nowadays, people tend to jump to the internet-- to search for information-- which can be attained by just a click away. Technology, in its simple or/and complex form-- is now a weapon for each individual to survive in this raged, complicated, and fast-paced world. It is no longer a myth that 'social media' portrayed a vital role in shaping and upholding a person's character and well-being. As it continues to escalate, distinction-- as well as division among our economic classes are created, because of our diverse statuses; almost disrupting our normal daily mechanisms.

It is good to know that 'media and information literacy' is introduced to us so that we can be that citizen; we want our country to have.

Someone who can promote the good essence of factual informations; someone who can establish neutral arguments and real justifications between good and evil; and someone who can protect the value of 'interaction' without depriving other people's right to express.

It is a tough battle we are all facing; the viruses of social media and hoaxes of information. With the help of 'media and information literacy' course, I am very positive that it can help us do something about the problems of the society. I expect this semester to be fun and full-packed with new learnings.

I will embrace everything in MIL, and with his guidance-- we will never depart from our goal.

I believe that a person's passion will let him/her through, that is why I felt the genuineness of my feelings which I considered happiness when I saw during the 1st convocation program SY 16-17 that Media Information Literacy will be taught on the next semester. I really love how I see this subject because it galvanized me. I know how media influences the generation these days and that is one of the reasons why I'd really want to learn and go beyond my perspective in my journey on this subject. I expect to be better on being one of the knowledge socities since I studied Media Information Literacy. This could probably alter my actions, my behavior and my character. I would look forward to myself being responsible and disciplined in all aspect. I am a media information literate.

When I first saw this subject on a card, I felt the excitement and I am very happy to the extent that I shouted "Yehey" ! Well, it's maybe because I am a campus journalist and I thought that this is a great help for me to be more confident and knowledgeable about the "media and literacy" world. Acting is also my passion, and from the subject's name "media" I know that we will have acting activities. I really love to act in front of my classmates.
What I expect from this subject are, this will help me know about media and literacy, what's the use of these in our everyday living, the teacher will be very friendly and cool !! Many activities will be given and this subject is not that easy to deal with.

My Insights and Expectations

As what we all know, technology had clearly opened a new chapter and made changes specifically to our generation today. Though it is so beneficial to us in all aspects, we still know that it could give us a lot of problems and disadvantages. Upon hearing this subject, Media and Information Literacy, I automatically expected that at the end of this semester, I could be literate in all aspects that are connected to technology. I also expect that this subject is fun and more technology-inclined from the subject's name itself "media".

Moreover, I do hope that at the end of this semester, I will be more responsible and careful for every interaction I am in specially in social medias.
