         <description><![CDATA[<div>Article 12: Men and women of marriageable age have the right to marry and to found a family, according to the national laws governing the exercise of this right.&nbsp;<br><br>Article 5 and Protocol 7:<br>Spouses shall enjoy equality of rights and&nbsp;<br>responsibilities of a private law character&nbsp;<br>between them, and in their relations with their&nbsp;<br>children, as to marriage, during marriage and in the event of its dissolution. This Article shall not prevent States from taking such measures as are necessary in the interests of the children.<br><br>Johnston and others v Ireland (1986)&nbsp;<br>Before divorce was legal in Ireland, Mr Roy and Mrs Janice&nbsp;Johnston brought a case to the European Court of Human Rights claiming that they had a right to divorce under Article&nbsp;<br>12 of the ECHR, which provides for the right to marry. The&nbsp;Johnstons claimed that having a right to marry under the&nbsp;Convention meant that they also had a corresponding right to&nbsp;<br>divorce. The Court rejected the Johnstons’ claim because the&nbsp;right to divorce is not clearly stated in Article 12.<br><br><br></div>]]></description>

         <description><![CDATA[<div>Article 4<br>The ECHR forbids slavery or forced labour even in times of emergency such as war.<br>No one shall be held in slavery or servitude.<br>Siliadin v France (2005)<br>In 1994 Ms Siwa-Akofa Siliadin 15 year old girl from Togo went to France on a tourist visa with a French family of Togolese origin to work in their home, they promised to cover her costs but then took away her passport and lent her to another family as an unpaid housemaid 7 days a week, she got compensation but according to a French law they hadn’t committed a serious crime.</div>]]></description>
