Another really interesting day today. Good to get some insight into the international project work of the other schools. We collected some good ideas and are curious to hear more about that tomorrow.

Also had a good opportunity to practice some French on the Pointe-a-Pitre markets.

It was good to reflect on internationalisation - how much and how little it takes to bring the world to your classroom. Interesting excise to look at who plays a role in
the integration of internationalisation at our schools. I expect the answer to
be that it is very much up to the single teacher to carry off the task. That we
are backed by the different stakeholders (as long as it does not cost too
much), but it is the teacher who decide how much or how little that has to be
done. Looking forward to see the answers tomorrow.

Internationalisation - why is it important? Is it easy or difficult to bring it into the classroom? What ways are there for teachers to realise it? Today was another inspiring day - it made me realise how far internationalisation is already integrated in our school curriculum. It is easy to teach others how to make almost all topics international - for example you have to compare contents with other cultures or look how other cultures handle things. Students with a different cultural background can teach each other the various ways of, for example eating habits, how people great each other, the different meanings of gestures. Nevertheless the most important thing is to talk about differences but to focus and stress similarities.

internationalism?

You can ask the question? Is it possible to avoid internationalism? I don’t think so - every day the world is getting a little bit smaller. Other peoples problems ending up
to be our problems – nowadays you just can’t be yourself.
