You can have ideas for what you want to do, but so many things happen that can't be predicted that would create a butterfly affect into all your plans. I believe not necessarily in fate, but I also believe that full free will doesn't exsist. Someone born into poverty starts off at a disadvantage and though they can work to rise up, the chances of them gaining high status is small and not due to a fault of theirs.
