BACKGROUND:
This struck me because I have always thought of
my identity as something that is unique to me and guided by my decisions and my decisions
alone. However, when I delve deeper into who I am in this moment and, more importantly, why I am the person I am, I realize that the people, places, and experiences in my life have all worked tirelessly to mold me into the man I am today. Crediting these parts of my life is important to give dues to influences out of my control. By giving them power, I am also giving myself the
power to trust that life has a plan for me.
THESIS:
My parents, my community, and my sexual orientation

Background:
I can identify with this quote of Maya Angelou because even when we face defeat and we think we will not be able to get up we are not defeated. All the defeats that I have been through as well as my mother to get me where I am today have been part of my journey and identity. My identity makes me who I am today, and the journey my mother has taken has molded me into what I have become as well as what I am working towards becoming. It has shaped me to become hard-working, independent and to keep pushing even when I am doubtful.

Background:
You can identify with this quote because life creates you because life is what teaches those mistakes we make is how we find ourselves.  I think that identity is something difficult to explain or understand for some people as it was for me.  However, I have always had problems about my identity and how to express myself, until now I continue to deal with those problems. The people who have helped me are my parents and all my family have been there for me and have made it possible for me to see the things of In a lot of ways they have made me the person I am now.

Identity is someone's culture. Identity could have different meanings towards different people. 
Background:
For some people it could mean the way they are coultureristic and for others it can mean a different thing that has to do with their personality.   Identity also can refuse what you believe different from other people. For example they are many of religions that believe in different things and in different ways so they will view people differently. Identity refurse to the different ways that people drees depending wear they are from for example in different jobs  and countries have a dress code. 
Thesis:
The three parts of my life  that have had a impact on me are my parents because they encourage me to continue my education and going in to college , in college i found the career i wanted and that career is automotive technology, its incorgingme on a gol that i want wich is having my own auto shop in the future.

American writer, Doug Cooper, once said, “Identity cannot be found or fabricated but emerges from within when one has the courage to let go”.

Background:
This stood out to me because I have always found myself having to cut ties with people in my life. I believe that our true selves are created once we have let go of the things holding us back. For instance, ever since I've left people in the past I have seen myself grow and learn as a person. In my view, everyone that I’ve had to let go of had made me into the person I am now.

Thesis:
My parents, my old friends, and my old self have influenced and shaped me into the person I am today.
