"Tet"-a popular national festival with many Vietnamese people love.It is the Vietnamese New Year marking the arrival of spring based on the Chinese calendar.The season of Vietnamese Tet usually start at end of January and February.
Among that time,my family will clean the house,upgrade the furniture and buy new things.Kids also get to buy new clothes.At the town, a lot of people also return back to their home town,including my family,too.In Vietnam at Tet holidays, you will get to eat a speacial food,name Banh Chung.Is a sticky rice with meat,green beans and Glutinous rice.At holidays, kids will have lucky money from old people and adults.At night,people will shoot some fire works at the sky.

Tet is one of my favorite holidays. It is on February 1 in the lunar calendar, January 1 in the solar calendar, and it's held in Vietnam, Nam. Last year, in the Lunar calendar, our family went to our grandparents' in the morning and afternoon, and then went to my cousin's house to give lucky money and eat hot pot together. At night, we all watch Tao Quan and laugh a lot. The next day, we all go to the hotel Vinpreal in Phu Quoc on an airplane. We got our own villa and are having so much fun. We go swimming at the water park, go to the zoo, eat buffets, and play video games. We go for about 4 days and then fly back home. The next day, my family went to Hai Phong. We decided to go to the hot spring hotel to relax, but it turned out it was closed because of COVID, so my mum said that we should go on a food tour of Hai Phong instead. I go to a very nice hotel ( because they let my dog in) and eat all the traditional foods of Hai Phong: banh da cua, cafe sua dua, banh my que, gia be, nem chua. We stayed there for one night and left the next afternoon. When we arrived home, we were so tired. I go and take a bath and drift off to sleep. The next morning, we all clean up the house and relax for the rest of Tet.

Tet is a very popular holiday in Vietnam, everyone loves Tet. Tet is celebrated in the January of lunar calendar to welcome the new year. On Tet holiday, everyone can rest to have a complete Tet with relatives, family and friends. Before Tet, people buy food, fruit, drinks, peach blossoms and apricot flowers. Children are bought new clothes by their parents. On New Year's Eve, all family members gather and watch fireworks together, eating delicious meals together. On New Year's Eve, people can go to parks, stadiums to watch fireworks or can watch on TV. The next day, adults and children go together to wish the people they know New Year and send them the best wishes. Children will receive lucky money from their parents and relatives. I love Tet very much. I hope Tet will always be loved and cherished by everyone.

Tet this year will take place in 1st of the February in the solar calendar. On this every family members will gather together to celebrate the start of a new year. People will clean their house, spend time with family and friend. People will likely go to visit their relatives house to give lucky money to their relative's kids in a red rectangular envelopes.
Rituals:
On the first day of the new year, we will come to our hometown and visit our grandparents or our great - grandparents (if they were still there). We will bring the offerings and pray to the anscestor to hope they will bless to the family a happy and peaceful year.
Food:
Banh chung: (Bánh chưng)
Banh chung is a salary cake made of green beans, sticky rice and pork (from the inside out) and wrapped with (???) leaves.
It present the blessing of the Earth and Sky.
Gio: (Giò)
You might be thinking this is is to ordinary for us. But is it also important on the offering table. It is made of minced meat. Each different body parts of a pig will create a different kind of Gio.
Boiled chicken: (Gà luộc lá chanh)
This is the most important food on the offering table. Thanks to it bright yellow skin, tender meat but it's still tough.
Bitter melon soup: (Canh khổ qua)
Not much children like this kind of soup. Yes, telling by it's name, it is made of bitter gouged in the middle to fill the meat in. They also put Wood - Ear mushrooms inside the soup to increase the sweetness.
Pickled onion: (Hành muối)
This is the dish that looking easy to make but it's not. You have to buy the onion and then soak it in the rice washing water. And also you can only get fresh onion only from the Spring.The next part is quite complicated so I will not say it here, but this dish is the most homely dish on the offering table.

My best holiday is Tet. Before Tet begin, we will clean our house and decorate the house.
When Tet starts we will make banh Chung and banh Day. Or we cook some chicken, noodle, sticky rice... Sometime we go travel in Tet. Like Ho Chi Minh or some where else... You can wear long shirt (look like a dress). But you can wear your own clothes
And you can get much lucky money. And you can go to the Spring festival and you can meet the dragon dancers.
Oh the shop sale for 50% to!? When sale like that sometimes we go shopping together to. Like we buy food, clothes, toys or pet. In Tet we sit together and play some video games or just a old games like hide and seek.
But the best I think is the family is happy get together in the living room set out side or open the television to watch the firework.

Last Tet holiday, I went to return to hometown. In the hometown, I went to pagoda to pray for, visted lativer and friends. I gave many lucky money. In dinner have Chung cake and boled chicken. At night, we were went into the street to wacht fireworks
