This Golden City is not only one of the four ancient cities in Penghu, but it’s also one of the most famous military monuments. When you stand on the walls of the Golden City, you’ll see that its buildings are very special, mixing both Chinese and Western military styles. It makes you feel that the people back then were very smart.

Inside the city, there are tall walls, bunkers, and special caves that protect from bombs. These show how they prepared to stop enemies from attacking. The walls are made from strong bricks and stones, able to withstand powerful cannon fire. Standing on the wall, I can also see the Penghu Strait and nearby islands. The view is so beautiful.

What’s even more interesting is that the weapon storage and the general's building here are still well-preserved, so we can learn more about the history of that time. Actually, this Golden City was a very important defense place during World War II. Visiting it now helps you understand history better.
