Microaggressions are very harmful because they are less explicit than some forms of harm(therefore less visible to some) but are ALWAYS felt and impacted by the people they are perpetrated against.

I am a first-generation college student and the video is resonated with me. I liked that they offers campus visits for high school students to show how university looks like. Reflecting back, it was so abstract in my mind and my college transition was not a smooth one. I feel "lucky" that I made through college and graduate school.

I made it as well, not before I made some costly mistakes though. I completed my Bachelor's six years after my high school graduation. If I did not have the financial support of my parents, I would not have graduated then.

Educational policy makers and institutions should start at the foundation of college readiness and preparation by deconstructing what is working and for who.

I think a good approach would be to simply listen to the experiences of Latinx students/FGCS before determining how to restructure this system.
