The upper class people during the industrial revolution did minimal work. They were rich enough to afford to bring workers to work for them and in return they gained all the profit.

Most people in the upper class were born into their aristocracy, they did not work for there wealth, they did not struggle to get rich, there money was all inherited from their parents. Only those who have invented a product that most people want (eg. Richard Arkwright who invented the first factory) would get extremely rich and gain there way into the upper class.

I did not know how to add a photo and a video so here is a documentary to do all the talking for me. http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=wc7EmiCdJZU

http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=XEN6OEDeVoQ MUST SEE )(*&^$%*^$%^$*^%*$^%*$^%*^ IS ENTIRELY RELEVANT TO THE TOPIC

The photo below shows how fat the upper class were, due to the fact that they could afford the food and they have nothing better to do than eat.

In social and political theory, the notion of the bourgeoisie was largely a construct of Karl Marx (1818–83) and of those who were influenced by him. In popular speech, the term connotes philistinism, materialism, and a striving concern for “respectability,” all of which were famously ridiculed by Molière (1622–73) and criticized by avant-garde playwrights since Henrik Ibsen (1828–1906).
