A vertically combined firm can control all phases of production, rather than rely on the goods or services of outside suppliers. <br>-<strong>Disadvantage- </strong>Antitrust regulators become concerned when firms in the same industry merge vertically, especially if supplying firms suffer.&nbsp;<br><br></div>]]></description>

The government usually doesn't get involved because this does not result in decreased competition. <br><strong>Disadvantage- </strong>The companies may not have a past in experience in the new companies and there is a serious shift of focus.&nbsp;</div>]]></description>
